Today, a simple message, a reminder. Social Media is about people.

In fact, marketing is about people.

So today, instead of tools or stories of techniques and fan growth, just this reminder and a simple request.

Before you load anything into your Facebook business page, your Twitter account, your blog, your newspaper advertisement, your brochure, etc, please take 60 seconds to envision the person you are planning to communicate with.

If you can’t, perhaps it is the perfect time to take some time out to think through your most attractive customer type, describe them in a meaningful way, and then start again.

You will find that writing meaningful messages to ‘real’ people is much more powerful than churning out abstract content.
